In September 2013 the Federal Reserve began distribution of the new $100 notes. Now, many user friendly security features allow easier authentication.
The note includes two new security features: a blue 3-D security ribbon with images of bells and 100s and; a color changing bell in an inkwell.
These new features along with the previous security identifiers such as the watermark offer a simply way to visually verify its authentication.
